About the Vineyard

Regional Characteristics and Vineyard Layout

Located in Murrindindi, near Yea, Victoria (in the Upper Goulburn wine region), adjacent to the Yarra Valley in Victoria, the vineyard currently has around 150 acres (approx.) under vine  including Merlot, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Cabernet. The vineyard is located within the Murrindindi shire.

The region is developing into a successful viticulture region. The cool climate and rich, fertile soils make it an ideal location for growing premium fruit. Many local growers and makers are now becoming well recognised for their quality and expertise and are being rewarded with many national and Victorian awards.

The vineyard was established 11 years ago to capitalise on the area's potential to produce world-class, cool-climate fruit at a far lower cost than the adjoining Yarra Valley region (now subject to suburban encroachment and skyrocketing land costs fuelled by residential land developments).

The big issues in the viticulture industry at present are water provisions, grape sale contracts, and costs of operation. The vineyard addresses these issues directly with its water infrastructure, strong contracts, and quality vineyard management.

In total, 148.3 acres are currently planted with predominantly own root stock vines of:
